What’s the worst social media sin?

I’m getting around to this kind of late, but this is a definite food for thought kind of topic. What’s the worst social media sin? Now, this topic is inspired by a LinkedIn post that’s steadily getting replies. What types of things in the social media world are taboo? What kinds of things should you NOT do? What ways should you post, engage your people, etc? Even, I’m still getting the hang of this, but here are a few posts that I found rather intriguing:

“The biggest sin is simply posting a sales message on other peoples walls without permission.” – Andy Phillips

“Spamming especially on Twitter..sending links to people through DM or Tweets to their name without there permission or not even building some kind of business relationship with them will result in an immediate unfollow or even worse. I’ve seen this too many times when people try to over-promote. It’s best to just tweet several times a day from your own account, and if people genuinely like your content, they’ll retweet.” – John Knowles

“Biggest mistake is thinking that Social is just another marketing effort. Social is unique in that we are relying on the people. We are putting content in play so that people take, make it their own, add their narrative and increase the value of that content so their friends join in. We are increasing purchase intent, motivating people to buy during that moment of decision. But the biggest mistake is still using a campaign mentality. Coming up with the big tactic and going from tactic to tactic, campaign to campaign without focusing on the parts that connect people with your brand over time.” – Tom Troja

Whether you are looking to dominate Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn or any other social network, it’s very imperative to find the right kinds of reasons. Otherwise, you’ll be lost in the sauce, and your campaign will prove very weak.

Diversify your earnings with Adsense

Adsense

I’ve been on Adsense for less than 2 weeks or so and I’m already earning 5 dollars!!! That’s pretty amazing because I heard people in their first two months make barely 30 cents!! I thank God for learning how to diversify early, and I thank my father for that as well, but the reason I want to get into this is because there are a lot of different ways to make money from Adsense. As I said in a previous post, sometimes you have to go the back way for getting accepted into Adsense. What I originally did was make a YouTube account.

I posted some videos on there just for the purpose of acquiring more traffic to my site! However, I didn’t realize that 2 years later, YouTube would invite me to make revenue from my videos! Think about this way..when you have a visual, there’s a lot more opportunity for people to generally click on your ads!!! Yes, people are more interested in the viral sense of being able to watch a video and listen to something at the same time!

YouTube Adsense

^Sorry for the kind of crude picture, but do you get my reasoning with VISUALS that catch your eye?!

The thing about Adsense with YouTube is that it’s not as saturated as say keywords for websites. This means that you’ll be able to have a video get ranked on YouTube A LOT QUICKER! TRUST ME! When you have videos (yes, plural) that gets hundreds to thousands of views, that QUICKLY adds up. For one thing, people don’t even have to click the ads on the right or on the video for you to make a little bit of dough. The viewership is actually a way to monetize!!! I don’t know the exact going rate for how much you’ll get paid per view, but take the diversity into account. It’s another way of building residual income! Do your research on keyword text on Google. Apply that knowledge and see the types of videos that correlate to your own.

Also, you can have the adsense on your Tumblr. I’ve been registered to Tumblr for maybe 2 years now. And the power of Reblogging and liking is incredible. It spreads just as much as if you were posting a YouTube video. And if you are smart, you’ll be able to customize your own theme to help cater to your Adsense ads! Yes, you can embed it right in your description, which a really smart way of kind meshing your adsense with text that matches in color!

Don’t just depend on your initial blog to get you the Adsense clicks that you want. Yes, use that, but don’t stop there! CREATE MORE WAYS of building your income, and you’ll be more successful. This applies to ALL aspects of business!

Here are a few videos to help you diversify with Tumblr, Blogging, and YouTube!

How the Google Panda algorithms affect your business

728x90 Facebook for Business

Well, Google is one of the key ways for most people whether it’s building traffic, or monetizing. Now, I’m a firm believer in diversifying. Now, Google is a great source for building your traffic, but you should look into other ways of building your presence. With Google being so volatile, and changing. You always need to know how to flip the script, so your business doesn’t hurt! Different ways you can do this is involving yourself with different feed submissions.

RSS FEEDS are great for building more stable traffic because people can subscribe to your feed. When people are able to subscribe to your feed, you’ll post a lot of information, that they’ll get through their email as opposed to going directly to your site. E-mail lists are also a great way to develop your stable traffic. Even Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg can help you branch out your immediate search engine traffic, so you find ways to compensate for the changes made. Remember, Google is one of the most if not the most dominant traffic source, but there are other ones that are pretty solid too specifically Yahoo!

As far as business is concerned, remember there are numerous ways to make money besides just Google Adsense. You can use Chitika which is great for contextual ads,

Postlinks

(in-text, blog posts, ads, etc), and other sites.

There are tons of affiliate sites like Commission Junction, SiteASell, and others to help build your affiliate marketing.

Always know in business of any kind, you shouldn’t put your eggs in just one basket. Diversify because it will make or break your business. Thank you to Lisa Irby for her post, that reminded me of why it’s important to look to other avenues to monetize besides just Google Adsense.

Take a look at her new blog, you are sure to gain a bunch of knowledege!

This is still a great video to look at when in the mindset of monetizing because things do change!
