5 Tips to get on your Social Media game!

Nowadays, I have to say that if you don’t have any kind of social media presence, you are really backtracking to ancient times. Cue the dinosaur! All right, joke over! Seriously, Social Media is becoming 20% of the most sought after, searched and used mediums online. That’s really significant especially when it comes to mobile computing. A great percentage of those on the phone are usually on their Twitter, Facebook, etc because it’s easier to update on the go! Here I’ll have a few tips so you don’t get lost in the sauce when you build your Social Media game up! Let’s level up, shall we?!

YouTube, YouTube, YouTube, YouTube! On one of my business sites, I gave a pretty good entry into why I foresee the future of YouTube being the king. One thing, YouTube is acting more and more like a social media system. The ability to share your content on a number of platforms, the easy mobile accessibility, and the way you can now create dialogue, comment, and make reply videos makes it a very valuable tool! You need this asap!!! If you don’t at least have a YouTube account, please go out and get one. Being making your videos and you’ll find that you’ll at least have some good video content. Another incentive is Adsense on YouTube. While it might be hard to get Google Adsense on your own site, good videos on YouTube will surely get you the Adsense quicker. It is much easier to become an Adsense partner on YouTube just for the simple fact people love watching and hearing content more than they like reading it!

Facebook! While I am not on there regularly, I still do see a lot of value in it. Remember when I talked about Edge Rank (Facebook’s SEO) a while ago? Well, it’s still pretty prevalent now. I posted up a recipe that I did a few weeks back for an event called Tigerfest. Now, I posted the picture on my site and within hours I got over 26 likes and some re-shares. Now, what I’m trying to tell you is Facebook sees your likes and puts it as a priority share on other people’s news feed. You know how Twitter has a trending topic or you get retweets and it becomes a real focal point! It’s much like that! This is POWERFUL! Not only does your post have the opportunity to be shared, but it becomes a focal point! Use this as power! Get people to like your posts, like your post yourself if you have to just to draw a bit of attention! Also, if you really want to do it, build your fan base, build a Facebook fan page so the dialogue is there!

This brings me to Twitter! Learn how to use Twitter as a good gauge to see your competition and know your target audience. One of the main reasons why I love using Twitter is the fact that I can truly network DIRECTLY with people I would not do otherwise. I often share quality information, retweet, and respond back. This helps me to build RELATIONSHIPS! You need this! I’ve made some quality connections, and some money just from being active with certain followers. You’ll find tons of business people, entrepreneurs that have good information! In fact, I probably would not have this blog up and running if it weren’t for people like Jawar, Lisa Irby, and other folks that really dig into this blogging/internet marketing thing. Another tip I learned is using hash tags. This is kind of like labeling your post, so people that look for specific can use #blog #site or whatever to find your post easier. It’s like keywords for SEO on your blog!

Tumblr! I think the power of Tumblr is still slept on. I have a few Tumblr sites that I get traffic from for mainly my Playstation and my Cocktail blog. If you are posting memorable quotes, inside jokes, great pictures, and even videos, this is the site for you! It’s really image based! And the way things are spread virally is exceptional. Some posts that I’ve made months ago still get likes and repins, so you can only imagine how powerful it is for long term traffic.

Pinterest!! Yes, I’ve made a few posts about this, and I will say it again and again. Get to this market while it’s still a bit new! I thought it was like Tumblr, but it is very different. Yes, you can share quotes, you can share videos, and pictures. However, the thing I love about this is the organization! You can make separate boards for your different likes! This means if you have a number of blogs, then separate them! Have your general interests for gaming go to your game blog, cocktail recipes to another blog, etc. Also, another thing is if you have a product or service that caters to females, THIS IS THE SITE FOR YOU! Exploit that on the quiet, but make sure you somehow NATURALLY promote your blog!!!

I’m sorry this post is a bit long, but I hope you gained some valuable information! Take care, and happy Monday!

How Your Blog Can Be a Source of Income

How Your Blog Can Be a Source of Income

Many people make a sizable income from blogging. Granted, bloggers understand the complexities of the industry, and manage to produce captivating content. Still, for the aspiring writer, average Joe or Jane, blogging can make an extra few hundred dollars a month.

Blogging takes years to master. An online course might teach you the basics of Internet marketing but you need more than just the fundamentals to make money. A blogger needs a vision, dedication and the wiliness to learn. If you want to learn the basics, take an Internet-marketing course or visit onlinecourses.net for more information. If you know the basics, your next step is learning how to make money off of your hard work.

Newsletter

E-commerce websites popularized the idea of the newsletter. Each month, online companies would produce a standard email letter to subscribed readers. The letter would contain basic information, i.e., sales information, discounts, specials and new product descriptions. The newsletter made a great advertising tool.

That was how newsletters functioned upon their inception. Today, more companies and bloggers who produce letters manage to sell part of their newsletter to interested advertisers. For example, the video game blogger with a readership of around 10,000 might sell part of the newsletter to a company producing a new video game.

The ads embedded in the letter pay a premium to the blogger producing the content. Space can go as little as $25 for 1,000 impressions to as much as $1,000 dollars for 100,000 impressions. Just remember, a newsletter will cost individuals money to produce, but bloggers can make a sizable amount of money off of a simple letter.

For Sale Sections

A decent readership affords you several advantages, one of them being the ability to host a sales section to make money from. Say your website discuss the newest jewelry trends and fashion tips. Your unique visitors hovers around 20,000 hits each day.

Using your loyal readership, you can setup a “for sale” section allowing people to sell items related to your blog. Each item a member sells, you charge either a 10% of the sale price or a flat rate fee. You can generate quick, easy money for little to no effort. You simply setup a section; sort out the code; set up a PayPal account; and watch the money pile up.

Sell a Blog

Before the economic downturn of the housing markets, investors would purchase a home; renovate it; and sell it at a profit. The new home would cost double or a quarter of the value the investor paid for the home. Similar to investors, bloggers can buy a domain name; setup a successful website; and sell the site for a premium.

Selling a blog takes time to build a loyal readership, but the profits can also appease any hardworking blogger. If you know a bit about website design, you can easily flip a blog to turn into cash. The buyer will have a loyal fan base as well as a decent format to continue to make money from. If you have little knowledge of web design or lack any business savvy skills, you can always visit Guide to Online Schools to help you find out how to gain the necessary skills.

Ads

The most common form of making extra cash off a blog comes from ads. Google AdSense allows bloggers to rake in an extra 100 or 200 dollars a month by hosting ads. Say 10,000 unique visitors venture to your site in a week.

Out of those 10,000 individuals, 1,000 click on an ad found on your website. If the rate per click averages 2 cents a click, you made an easy 20 dollars for almost no effort. Sure, 20 bucks may not make you rich, but the more readers that make their way to your site, the higher the income possibilities.

Premium Content

When you own a blog, you can outsource and sell space at a premium. Your loyal readership can make companies want to use your website to produce content for link building purposes. Each piece of content will be related to your blog in some fashion. The article will then contain several links that direct users to other websites. These links help the individual company drive traffic and sales.

My Journey with Adsense Part 3

As you can see slow and steady wins the race, and I’m learning a lot about Google Adsense especially with the changes on the Ad Review Center. If I was able to apply that earlier last month, I could easily see myself doubling what I earned last month. That’s exactly what I did, though. I doubled what I earned back in March!!! I realize that as Google changes, you have to adapt to that change. Although, a lot of people have been annoyed with how Google Adsense has shut down a lot of accounts and the way Google in general is making it harder and harder for most to proper. There are some good things you can say about all of this.

One thing I have to say is this…..the Ad Review Center is a great help for making sure you have relevant ads on your site. I remember the first few months of Adsense I was REALLY struggling. I was seriously thinking to myself, I have all of this content, but no one is really clicking. Or if they did click on the ads, the result would be a rather meager profit. Then I realized, maybe I should put in better content and a bit longer content. That still didn’t really go through. So I really took notice, and saw that a lot of the ads that were placed on the specific positions and targets throughout my blog were not targeted ads. I know that I was missing out on a lot of potential residual income!

Now, what the Ad Review Center did for me was target those ads, and as a result, I’ve had a lot better performance!! In March 2012, I earned around $13.75. By the end of April, I earned $26.09. The day I implemented the Ad Review Center was nearly a week into April. Realistically, I think the number could have jumped to $30. There is one gripe to using Ad Review Center….less people bidding on your ads. However, the clicks will be more meaningful, and you’ll have more opportunity to earn per click! Check below to see how much I made this month:
