My Journey with Adsense Part 3

As you can see slow and steady wins the race, and I’m learning a lot about Google Adsense especially with the changes on the Ad Review Center. If I was able to apply that earlier last month, I could easily see myself doubling what I earned last month. That’s exactly what I did, though. I doubled what I earned back in March!!! I realize that as Google changes, you have to adapt to that change. Although, a lot of people have been annoyed with how Google Adsense has shut down a lot of accounts and the way Google in general is making it harder and harder for most to proper. There are some good things you can say about all of this.

One thing I have to say is this…..the Ad Review Center is a great help for making sure you have relevant ads on your site. I remember the first few months of Adsense I was REALLY struggling. I was seriously thinking to myself, I have all of this content, but no one is really clicking. Or if they did click on the ads, the result would be a rather meager profit. Then I realized, maybe I should put in better content and a bit longer content. That still didn’t really go through. So I really took notice, and saw that a lot of the ads that were placed on the specific positions and targets throughout my blog were not targeted ads. I know that I was missing out on a lot of potential residual income!

Now, what the Ad Review Center did for me was target those ads, and as a result, I’ve had a lot better performance!! In March 2012, I earned around $13.75. By the end of April, I earned $26.09. The day I implemented the Ad Review Center was nearly a week into April. Realistically, I think the number could have jumped to $30. There is one gripe to using Ad Review Center….less people bidding on your ads. However, the clicks will be more meaningful, and you’ll have more opportunity to earn per click! Check below to see how much I made this month:

Are you doing everything you can to maximize your blog monetization?

If you’ve kept a solid blog for a while, you would have learned by now that there are many ways you can monetize your site! Even if you have a blog that doesn’t have a self-hosted domain, the right connections, the right traffic, and the right message will help you bring countless advertisers. At the end of the day, it’s all about conversion and traffic!!! If you have a Google Adsense account, that’s great! In fact, you can learn more about how Google Adsense has changed through a number of my posts on Google, and learn why Google Panda is a scary but great thing if you use it to your advantage. However, you shouldn’t place so much focus on Google Adsense especially if you first start a blog. Google should be a supplement to main your ways of getting income as I learned the opposite way! The way to really get yourself monetizing your site is by building your content first and foremost!!

When you build your content you open your doors for many opportunities. I say one of the best ways to learn how to build content is practice your writing. There are sites out there such as HubPages, which I first used when I started blogging, that will help you really get your writing skills together! I learned how to wow an audience or at least make some really good comments that made people go back to my site or my Hub! That is the key! You never know when someone wants to hit up your email or something for advertising! In fact, a few weeks back a Nissan branch out of San Bernadino contacted me and wanted to advertise for multi-year deal! Content is key!

Another thing is learn where you can get paid for writing articles! Good bloggers are usually decent writers! You don’t have to be the most proficient writer in the world, but learn how to make your point and detail it to the degree where someone wants to click through and possibly BUY something. Leads are VERY IMPORTANT. There are some sites out there such as Textbroker, Blogsvertise, Blogdistributor that will pay you for quality content. So, you can also get ideas for the types of blogs or blog posts within your niche that will get you not only traffic, but better blog monetization!

I still say affiliate marketing is powerful, but it’s all about how you go with it! I’m going to probably put back my Amazon Affiliate stuff on all of my sites now with Mother’s Day coming up! I noticed seasonal and holidays work the best for my conversions! That leads to learning what really converts on your site and what does not!

Constantly experimenting and changing and looking at your results will help you fair better which I learned with my Adsense! I’ll write a blog update about how I doubled my Adsense income sometime tomorrow or later tonight! Take heed to the post! Thanks!
